Summary:
If you're 18 or older and have heart disease, you may qualify for the PREVAIL study.
Criteria:- History of cardiovascular disease
- 18 years of age or older with elevated
“bad” cholesterol levels - On medication(s) to lower cholesterol
(if applicable), such as statins
Note: Other requirements will apply.
Qualified Participants May Receive:
$75 per office visit
$25 per phone visit
Study Overview
• Attend study clinic visits and telephone visits
for about 3 to 4 years.
• Take either 1 study drug tablet or 1 placebo
tablet (no active ingredients) by mouth
once daily.
• Continue taking your usual medication to
lower cholesterol that was prescribed by your
general practitioner (if applicable).
• Follow a cholesterol-lowering diet and make
or continue lifestyle changes as instructed by
your general practitioner.
