Summary:
If you have narcolepsy without cataplexy (also known as narcolepsy type 2), you may be able to take part in a clinical research study.
The purpose of the SunUp Study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational study drug in the treatment of adults ages 18 to 70 who have narcolepsy without cataplexy. This study may help researchers understand how the body processes the study medication (TAK-861) and how it may affect excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS). TAK-861 is an oral tablet and taken once or twice a day with water.
All participants who qualify will receive the investigational study drug or a placebo, as well as study-related exams and study-related laboratory tests at no cost. Compensation and reimbursement for travel expenses may also be available.
Eligible participants must:
- Be 18 to 70 years of age, inclusive
- Have received a narcolepsy type 2 (NT2) diagnosis within the past 5 years or be experiencing NT2 symptoms
- Be willing to stop any current NT2 treatment
