Osteoarthritis, also known as “wear and tear” arthritis, is a joint inflammation that results from cartilage degeneration. Osteoarthritis of the knee is the most common form of arthritis and is the most common cause of disability affecting millions of people around the world. As the disease advances, the condition can become extremely painful and debilitating.
That is why Tandem Clinical Research is looking for volunteers with osteoarthritis of the knee for an investigational study therapy. The study therapy is a type of gene therapy, in which the healthy cells that form cartilage are injected into the knee. These cells are designed to reduce knee pain and improve function of the knee.
To qualify, participants must:
· Be 40 years of age or older
· Have a diagnosis of osteoarthritis of the knee
· Have pain from osteoarthritis of the knee
