Clinical Research Study for Adults Who Have Itch Associated with Liver Disease
Why is the PACIFIC study being done?
People with liver disease often have itching severe enough to affect their quality of life. The PACIFIC study is testing an investigational drug (EP547) to see if it can help reduce itching, also known as pruritus, in adults with cholestatic* liver disease. This study will also help answer other research questions: Does EP547 have side effects? How well do people with cholestatic liver disease tolerate EP547? Does the itch affect sleep or fatigue?
*Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) or Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC)
Is the PACIFIC study an option for you?
You may be able to participate in the PACIFIC study if all the following criteria are met:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- Daily or near-daily moderate to severe itching (pruritus) due to PBC or PSC.
- If currently taking medications to treat liver disease or pruritus, must be on a stable dose for certain period of time prior to study entry and willing to maintain a stable regimen throughout the study.
There are other eligibility requirements that the study doctor will review with you.
