Summary:

We are looking for individuals aged ≥18 who present with gum bleeding and redness. Interested and qualifying subjects will take a dietary supplement delivered in the form of a chewing gum that has nitratedaily during a three-week periodDietary nitrates, which occur naturally in vegetables, may provide cardiovascular and other health benefits.

Study will involve:

  • dental exam,
  • collection of saliva (spit),
  • collection of blood and
  • non-invasive measures of heart health.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Non-smoker
• 20 teeth minimum
• mild-moderate inflamamtion of gums
• no or well-conttrolled diabetes


Qualified Participants May Receive:

  • basic gingival evalaution
  • $200 stipend
