Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain syndrome marked by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and cognitive symptoms such as “fibro-fog.” Although the exact cause is not yet fully understood, recent scientific studies have begun to clarify the mechanisms behind the condition and potential avenues for treatment and diagnosis.
Criteria:
Be 18 years or older
Have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia (per ACR criteria)
Experience widespread pain for 3 months or longer
Report moderate to severe pain on most days
Have symptoms such as:
Be able to provide informed consent
Be willing to participate in study visits and procedures
Have stable medications for a specified period (if applicable)
