Summary:

The Pfizer Clinical Research Unit in Ann Arbor is seeking healthy men, ages 18 to 65, and women, ages 45-65, for participation in an upcoming research study for an investigational drug being developed to treat patients who are overweight or obese. Some qualifications for study participation include:


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be a non-smoker
• Be at least 30 pounds overweight, with a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 30 and 40 (determined by a measure of height and weight)
• Not have high blood pressure > 140/90, or high blood sugar
• Not have any chronic illnesses
• Not have a history of a severe allergic reaction
• Not have any condition affecting drug absorption such as a gastrectomy, intestinal surgery, active inflammatory bowel disease or pancreatic insufficiency
• Be willing to participate in a lifestyle modification program based on healthy eating, healthy weight and physical activity and willingness to document in a daily diary


Qualified Participants May Receive:

This study will require weekly outpatient visits for 12 weeks and daily dosing. Qualified subjects will receive dietary counseling by a certified dietician. Payment for completion of the study will be approximately $1,055.00.
