Summary:

This research study involves taking a medication that is approved by the FDA for another use or a placebo for 8 weeks. There is a screening visit, 3 MRI visits that include cognitive testing, and 4 additional visits with the study physician.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Have bipolar disorder
• Be depressed currently
• Be 21-50 years of age
• Not have a medical condition that affects the study medication
• Not take a medication that affects the study medication
• Not have metal implants or inability to undergo MRI


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Compensation is up to $200. Study medication as well as laboratory and other tests are provided at no charge.
