Summary:
Research study to see if an investigational drug can lower uric acid levels in the body (high acid can cause gout).
Qualified Participants Must:
If male, be 18 years of age or older
If female, be 45 years of age or older
Have experienced a gout flare (painful, swollen joint, redness over joint)
Have never taken any of the following medications for gout - allopurinol (Zyloprim) febuxostat (Uloric) or probenecid (Benuryl)
Qualified Participants May Receive:
Study related care, diagnostic tests, and study medication at no cost. Payment for time and travel to the study center may be provided.
