Summary:

A phase 3b study to evaluate the cardiovascular safety of study drug and allopurinol in subjects with gout and cardiovascular comorbidities.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be 50 years of age or older
• Have a history of mi, cardiac or cerebrovascular revascularization procedure, stoke: hospitalized tia, peripheral vascular disease, history of diabetes mellitus with retinopathy, neuropathy, nephropathy, small vessel vascualar disease
• Have a uric acid level of >6.0%


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Compensation for time and travel, all study related physical exams, lab work, study medication, and rescue medication.
