Summary:
Diabetes is a chronic disorder in which the body is not able to efficiently produce and use insulin to regulate blood sugar. The onset of diabetes may, in part, be linked to stress. Traditionally stress has been considered a physical or psychological tension; however, other factors such as lack of sleep, exercise and food consumption can trigger stress. Our new overnight observational study will examine the relationship between activities of daily living (sleep patterns, exercise, food consumption and recreational activities) against physiologic indicators (blood sugar levels, blood pressure, heart rate, respirations, skin temperature etc.) using continuous monitoring devices.
Qualified Participants Must:
Be between 18 and 75 years of age
Have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes
Not currently be using insulin
Be willing to stay overnight in CTT clinic
Additional criteria may apply
Qualified Participants May Receive:
Study related medical care and tests from a board-certified physician at no cost, insurance is not required to participate, and compensation up to $1,125 will be available for time and travel.
