Summary:

Are you someone who suffers from bipolar disorder and between the ages of 21 and 65? Are you presently depressed? Are your medications for depression not working?

If so, you may be eligible to participate in a research study of a new medication for Bipolar Depression. The study is being conducted by the Department of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Participation in the study involves a psychiatric and medical screening, and if eligible, two overnight stays in the hospital and several follow-up visits in the outpatient clinic. You will receive a monetary reimbursement for your participation in the study.

If you are actively abusing alcohol or drugs you will not be eligible to participate.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be between the ages of 21 and 65
• Currently be depressed
• Have a diagnosis of bipolar disorder


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Free psychiatric and medical evaluation, and monetary compensation for research for participation.
