Summary:

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a significant cause of liver-related illnesses, including chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. Despite antiviral treatments, few people reach a sustained cure. Researchers at The Rockefeller University are seeking to understand how white blood cells respond to HBV with the goal of finding new ways to control the virus which could lead to new or improved treatments.

Participation includes: 1 screening phone call 1 screening visit: Informed consent, take medical history, blood draw, urine pregnancy test 2 more clinic visits over the course of 1 year for blood work and medical history update.

Compensation is provided.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be between the ages of 18-75
• Be currently infected with Hep B or have an acute, resolved infection OR have been diagnosed with Hep B-related liver cancer
• Must not have Hepatitis C or D
• Must not have HIV
• Must not be pregnant or lactating
