This trial aims to reduce LDL-C values in participants with a previously LDL-C value of 55 or higher, who have been taking a consistent dose of statin for 28 days or more.
Qualified Participants Must:
Participants 18 years or older with a LDL-C value of 55 or higher with statin usage, who have either established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease or are at risk for cardiovascular events.
Established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease - one or more
Previous heart attack or stroke
Stent, bypass or other revascularization surgery
Diagnosed peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
Angina- type of chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.
Risk for cardiovascular events - one or more
- 50% or more stenosis in 2 or more arteries
Diabetes type 1 or 2
Hypertension
Chronic kidney disease (CKD)
Currently smoking cigarettes
Obese
Risk can also be calculated by the office based on recent lab results.
